#TheGiggCleanUp continues. More dates announced.

Firstly we would like to say a huge huge thank you to our 400 strong volunteers who assisted our first The Gigg Cleanup weekend from 2 year olds to 78 year olds.

We had volunteers who travelled from Cleveleys, North East, Midlands as well as locals who see Gigg Lane as a main stay of the town, which has seen football in Bury since 1885.

A huge thank you to the initial businesses who have been to the ground to donate supplies, cleaning materials, equipment, solar loos and an Office block as we started our Gigg Lane refurbishment plan.

Special mention to Garic, Bury Skips, Orange Skips, Senior Waste Removals, TXL Products Ltd, R-Aim Fire Extinguishers, Cheetham Hill Construction, Manchester Safety Services and to the volunteers who donated masks, sanitisers, gloves, rubble sacks and more…

Daniel Bowerbank, Operations Director of Gigg Lane, “It was great to meet so many people who have so many memories of games at Gigg Lane.

The turnout from the volunteer call we made last week was incredible with people already asking when the next Cleanup will take place.

A special mention goes out to the local businesses who have risen to the calls to help us get Gigg gleaming for community use which will assist us in creating a sustainable community asset.”

Our next Cleanup operation will be next weekend as we look to tackle the Manchester Road End and Neville Neville stand. Following this we will then be looking for volunteers in each construction sector to align with our schedule of works, plus a monthly volunteer clean up of Your Community Gigg!
