We want to give you an update on the upcoming weekend’s fixture versus Barrowford Celtic.
For the last 3 fixtures, Barrowford Celtic have been in contact with the league to say they have been unable to field a team due to work commitments and injuries. Unfortunately this means that we will not be playing them this Sunday.
Thankfully, Accrington Stanley Women have stepped in to play at Gigg Lane in their place for a friendly! We look forward to welcoming Accrington fans for what will be a keenly-contested derby!
All the details are the same with a 2pm kick off this Sunday 8th May. Fans who have already purchased tickets need not worry – these will of course still be valid.
More good news – we have finally had our application for a beer license confirmed, and we will be selling beer, cider and real ale at the game!

Daniel Bowerbank, Operations Director said, “We are looking forward to welcoming Accrington Stanley Women to Gigg Lane this weekend, and grateful that they have stepped in at this late stage. It’ll be another match with a great atmosphere, and good to welcome more people back into the stadium as we continue to get Gigg gleaming. It will be a great local derby and particularly poignant to see Stanley fans, who Bury fans supported during their time of need under the Friday night lights at the Wham stadium a few years ago.”
