Over the last few weeks with the support of Groundsman Michael Curtis, Operations Director Daniel Bowerbank, Richard Clarkson RC Pitch Solutions, Chris Harding Prestwich Golf Club, Mike McDonnell KAR UK Ltd and Pete McGreevy Cheshire Turf Machinery our pitch renovations have started.
Following the initial cut prior to vertidraining, we have now commenced with the seeding and fertiliser schedule of works this morning.
Over the last few weekends we have allowed volunteers to have a walk and a kickabout on the pitch, but as we have now started our planned programme of works to ensure it is safe for pitch hire for community groups, charity games, grassroots teams, cup finals as we grow the stadiums community usage.
Volunteers or visitors will now no longer be able to have access to the pitch.
Once the schedule is almost complete we will be looking at announcing our booking system in which people will be able to hire the pitch. Over the coming months we will be adding in room bookings, Office spaces to rent and more…
Daniel Bowerbank, Operations Director said, “We would like to thank all the businesses who have supported us so far on the Gigg Lane project, especially the donations of equipment, time and effort of all the community who have embraced us as we have reached out for support. We look forward to seeing this end product so people will be able to have a kickabout on the pitch at Gigg Lane”
