Bury 3 Accrington 2

Bury FC Foundation Women Remain unbeaten at Gigg

Below is a short compilation of the highlights from the day.

Sunday saw Gigg Lane host the second successive game for Bury FC Foundation Women, where they faced a strong Accrington Stanley Women side who are currently two divisions higher.

The standard of the game was a great advert for live women’s football down at Gigg Lane. The game finished with Bury coming from 2 goals behind to win the game 3-2, despite missing two penalties in the second half.

The 441 attendance for a friendly game against local side Accrington provided a superb atmosphere once again!

The current league standings mean Bury require just a point in their final match of the season to secure the championship, following the draw between Fleetwood Wrens and Clitheroe Wolves yesterday.

That final match is this Sunday! Bury take on our only rivals for the title – Clitheroe Wolves – in what promises to be an exciting finale!

For the FINAL league game of 2021/22 we will be offering a FREE ticket to any under 7s who come with a full paying adult.

The CASH ONLY bar will once again be open from 12.30 until 4.30pm, with Budweiser, Strongbow dark fruit and Boddingtons available – 2 for £5.
